Composite & PVC decking

How we approach composite & pvc decking

Composite boards blend recycled wood fiber and plastic under a hard protective shell. PVC boards are fully synthetic, lighter and even more resistant to moisture and stains. Both are a big step up from wood in our climate: no annual sealing, no splinters, and no soft spots after a few winters.

The boards themselves will outlast the frame under them, so the frame matters even more. Every composite or PVC deck we install gets joist tape on every joist, joist spacing checked for the board, and fascia that matches the surface. We use hidden fastening systems or color-matched plugs so you do not see screw heads.

Price depends mostly on the board line. Entry composite lines like Trex Enhance or TimberTech Prime are the best value; premium composite and PVC lines like AZEK cost more but stay cooler, resist stains better and carry longer warranties.

FAQ

Composite & PVC decking: common questions

Composite or PVC: which is better?
Both are excellent here. Composite feels more like wood and costs less. PVC is lighter, stays cooler in sun and resists stains and moisture even better, at a higher price.
Does composite decking get slippery or moldy?
Modern capped boards resist mold, but any deck in shade can get a green film. A rinse and gentle wash once or twice a year keeps it clean.
Can composite go on my existing frame?
Usually, if the frame is sound and joists are close enough together for the board. We check spacing and add joists where needed.
Do you work with Trex, TimberTech and AZEK?
Yes. We install all three and help you compare lines and colors based on budget, sun exposure and the look you want.
